Info...If you go to www.usingdmannose.co.uk you will find a lot of information and help, but you also have us and we will help all we can. Follow the guidelines fairly closely with particular attention to keeping the urine alkaline (pH 7.5-8), taking every three hours and taking at least once in the night until you are well. Then reduce slowly and gradually. You will have blips as embedded bacteria rise to the surface and start to grow. Eventually, these blips stop and you will be able to keep well on a very small maintenance dose. The one thing is that it is not like allopathic medicine and you have to stay focused for a while to win against the bacterial growth. The plus is that over a short period of time, they leave the body, rather than burrow in to the wall of the bladder, as can happen when antibiotics are taken. Please stay focused on the following suggestions (taking every three hrs/also once in the night/alkalising the urine/avoiding acid etc. This makes all the difference our customers tell us because at night as the PH of the urine increases in acidity the bacterial growth increases exponentially. I'm answering this as a private individual rather than as a partner in Sweet Cures, so it's my private opinion. (legal, EEC requirement)... While you are waiting, making your urine alkaline (Ph. 7.5-8) (If you can get magnesium citrate, sodium citrate, calcium citrate, or potassium citrate ....a pharmacist should sell) lemon or lemon barley very strong) and taking a natural antibacterial helps. Also, you can try taking 2 cloves/not bulbs of raw garlic, with a little organic (organic imp) apple juice, 3 times a day (eaten immediately after crushing);this is very helpful as it will have an antibacterial effect. Avoid cranberry and orange and alcohol completely. You can see on our list of foods on the website what ones will increase the alkalinity of the urine. All gram neg bacteria find it hard to grow fast in alkaline conditions, and this will give your body some chance of flushing enough away, so that your symptoms recede enough to keep you comfortable. It will be helpful to get up in the night, after 2/3 hrs and keep alkalising( slightly). What we have always found is that if your problem is E.coli, Klebsiella, or related bacteria, and you don't have some underlying condition that makes it very difficult for you to absorb nutrients (you'd be very thin), Waterfall D-Mannose never fails unless your urine is very acidic, allowing the bacteria to multiply faster than you are flushing them away. You can also check that you are not doing something that reduces the beneficial effects of taking Waterfall D-Mannose: We suggest: 1. Don't take cranberry, acidic vitamin C, or orange juice - it nullifies the effect of Waterfall D-Mannose. See: 2. Try to keep your urine slightly on the alkaline side 7.5 - 8. (Somepotassium citrate perhaps). TAKE EVERY THREE HRS until you are well. 3. Cut out sex, alcohol, red meat, coffee, and strong spices. (Not forever, of course....) 4. Try taking some raw garlic and fresh Aloe Vera 3 or 4 times a day. 5. Don't over-dilute the product or it never achieves a high enough concentration in the urine. But do take a glass or cup of liquid with each dose. Drink fairly normally - if you are thirsty, drink. 6. Try not to urinate for an hour after taking Waterfall D-Mannose - you have to give it time to get through your system into your urine, and to work in your bladder. 7. Take a dose during the night - often you can mostly flush the bacteria away, and it grows back when you are sleeping - some people need Waterfall D-Mannose in their urine all the time until they get the better of the problem. So if you are getting up more than once, don't go back to bed without any WDM until you are feeling that you are in control of the bacterial growth. 8. You can try varying the quantity and frequency, and the amount you drink with it. 9. If your symptoms are lower down (urethral) try holding some urine in your urethra with the palm of your hand for a count of 60 to allow the d-mannose to work on your urethra. 10. If the problem has reached your kidneys (lower back pain, perhaps some fever), best to see a doctor soon, and go on our kidney treatment method. For this, see: All of the above said, it's usually a matter of persisting. Not everyone gets immediate total relief, but most people who persist do achieve that. You should be able to get completely on top of this problem. Please communicate with us and let us know if you need any further help. Shifting your pH Toward Alkaline To get PH strips, and test that your urine is not too acidic (and feeding the problem) see following link: Consult the food chart on the website to "adjust" urine ph. The ph scale is from 0 to 14, with numbers below 7 acidic and, numbers above 7 alkaline. http://www.usingdmannose.co.uk If you follow the guidelines given WDM cannot fail against Ecoli, Klebsiella and Salmonella. We think therefore, about 95% of the causes of UTIs and IC are helped completely. It can take several months for the bladder to heal and flare ups to end, but after that you should be very confident that this condition is over for you forever. Some people take a little before bed on a permanent basis. The Xylotene works well for streptococcus in the mouth and bladder. If you do not get completely well and feel in control in a few months and have checked the guidelines again, then you will have other bacteria. Keep in touch and we will help you and suggest the right questions to ask your doctor and possible steps to take next.
