Glucose Blood Levels

We are all trying to avoid sugar laden diets as the link between sugar, obesity and the potential to develop diabetes seems increasingly clear.

Glucose and Diabetes

glucose blood levels

Glucose is usually used by the body’s cells as fuel that keeps us going. Glucose comes from the carbohydrates we eat and can also be produced by the liver. Glucose needs insulin (a hormone) to help it get into our cells so it can be used productively. The pancreas usually produces this insulin, but in the case of diabetes, insulin is either not produced at all, or there is not enough (insulin resistance) meaning that glucose builds up in the blood.

Type 1 diabetes is when no insulin is produced by the pancreas.

Type 2 diabetes is when insufficient insulin (Insulin Deficiency) is produced or the cells don’t react to it (Insulin Resistance)

High Blood Sugar Symptoms

High blood glucose is associated with the following symptoms:

  • Excessive hunger
  • Excessive urination
  • Excessive thirst

Continued high levels of blood glucose (known as Chronic Hyperglycaemia) can cause a number of medical conditions since the whole body suffers:

  • Permanent damage to the pancreas
  • Atherosclerosis (blood vessels stiffen with plaque)
  • Kidney disease/failure
  • Stroke
  • Heart Attack
  • Neuropathy (nerve damage that can cause pain or tingling or numb sensation in hands and feet)
  • Retinopathy (disease of the retina that can lead to loss of sight)
  • Damage to the immune system meaning at much greater risk of developing infection
  • Slow wound healing

Controlling Blood Sugar Levels for Weightloss

Diabetrose is a 100% natural dietary supplement that contains two vital glyconutrients:

  • L-Arabinose is a plant sugar that inhibits intestinal absorption of sucrose and carbohydrates. It prevents the blood glucose spike that usually follows eating and has also been found to help manage weight as it reduces food cravings that cause us to snack between meals, and, in managing glucose levels, prevents the conversion of excess glycogen to fat (Liu et al, 2013).
  • Trehalose is a sugar that comes from seeds and fungi. It gives a slow release of glucose to the cells, giving you sustained energy with no spike in blood glucose levels.

Diabetrose is not a substitute for eating healthily or taking regular exercise but can be an ally in keeping blood glucose levels in check and consequently helps regulate weight in a safe and natural way..
